Description

The Analog TDS Sensor Meter for Arduino with Waterproof Probe is a user-friendly module designed to measure Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in water, enabling precise water quality assessment for applications like hydroponics, freshwater aquariums, and environmental monitoring. TDS, expressed in ppm (parts per million or mg/L), quantifies dissolved substances such as salts, minerals, and metals, with lower values indicating cleaner water (e.g., <400ppm for freshwater fish). The sensor uses a two-electrode waterproof probe driven by an AC signal to prevent polarization, ensuring durability and a lifespan of approximately one year under normal use. It operates on a wide input voltage of 3.3–5.5V, consuming 3–6mA, and outputs an analog voltage (0–2.3V) proportional to TDS levels, compatible with Arduino, ESP32, or other 5V/3.3V microcontrollers (an ADS1115 ADC module is recommended for Raspberry Pi). The TDS measurement range is 0–1000ppm with ±10% full-scale accuracy at 25°C, though calibration with a known solution (e.g., 707ppm buffer) is advised for precision. For accurate readings, temperature compensation is critical (TDS varies ~2% per °C), and pairing with a DS18B20 waterproof temperature sensor (not included, -55°C to +125°C, ±0.5°C accuracy) is recommended. The probe, featuring a 60–100cm cable with an XH2.54-2P connector, is immersible up to 55°C but not suitable for corrosive, saltwater, or heavily polluted environments. The signal transmitter board (approx. 42x32mm) uses a PH2.0-3P interface for plug-and-play setup with Arduino libraries like Gravity TDS. This RoHS-compliant kit is ideal for IoT-based water quality projects, offering easy integration and reliable performance. Note: The probe is waterproof, but the board and connector are not; avoid submersion of non-probe components.
